    Philippine Airlines (PAL), also known historically as Philippine Air Lines, is a flag carrier of the Philippines. Headquartered at the Philippine National Bank Financial Center in Pasay City, the airline was founded in 1941 and is the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name. Formerly one of the largest Asian airlines, The airline was placed under receivership in 1998, and gradually restored operations to many destinations. PAL exited receivership in 2007, and following the takeover of San Miguel Corporation in 2012, has been taking steps towards reestablishing itself as one of Asia's premier carriers.


    Philippine Airlines serves 31 destinations in the Philippines and 36 overseas destinations in Southeast Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Oceania, North America and Europe.

Traveling Philippine Airlines

    Currently, Philippine Airlines provide two cabin classes on all its flights: Mabuhay Class (Business Class) and Fiesta Class (Economy Class).

Mabuhay Class

    Mabuhay Class is the business class product of Philippine Airlines. The seats in this class have greater legroom, advanced features and personal screens. The meal service on offer includes full-course Western, Filipino and Japanese Kaiseki cuisine. On all international flights, a menu is provided to all passengers and they can pre-order their choice of meal before take-off. It is the only local air carrier currently to offer business class on domestic flights.

Fiesta Class

    The Fiesta Class is the economy class product of Philippine Airlines. On all its long-haul flights, the airline provides a slumber mask, basic amenity kit and socks to all passengers. On all seats in this class, tray tables are foot rests are offered. Audio entertainment is featured on all aircrafts on the airline’s mainline fleet. The A319-100s and A320-200 aircrafts have drop down overhead LCD screens. The airline’s brand-new Boeing 777-300s features the new economy class with seats having 32-34 inch pitch, 9-inch monitors, AVOD and a USB port.

About Philippine Airlines

    Philippine Airlines trace its roots back to Philippine Aerial Taxi Company that was founded in November 1935 to provide cargo, mail and passenger service in the island of Luzon. In February 1941, Philippine Air Lines was founded by a group of leading businessmen which acquired the franchise of Philippine Aerial Taxi Company to give birth to Philippine Airlines. The airline operated its first daily scheduled flight between Manila and Baguio using a single Beechcraft Model 18 NPC-54 aircraft. Apart from offering scheduled flight services to a large number of domestic and international destinations, PAL also offers other services like integrated airport ground handling services, cargo operations and a full catering service through its subsidiaries: PAL Airport Services, Philippine Airlines Cargo and the PAL Inflight Center. The airline is the only one in the country to have IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) accreditation by the International Air Transport Association. It is owned by PAL Holdings, which is part of a group of companies owned by Lucio Tan, a business tycoon.

Our Fleet

    The fleet of Philippine Airlines consists of 42 state-of-the-art aircrafts. Including Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321neo, Airbus A321-200, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A340-300, Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777-300ER. The average age of the airline’s fleet is 9.6 years. Its entire fleet of Boeing and Airbus fleet is maintained by Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) which has a four-bay hangar and 110,000 square meters of workshops in Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila.

    Mabuhay Miles is the frequent flyer program of Philippine Airlines. The loyalty program was formed in 2002 following a merger between all existing PAL frequent flyer programs: PALsmiles, the Mabuhay Club and the Flying Sportsman. The members of this reward program earn miles by flying with the airline which can be redeemed on all flights operated by the airline as well as on partner airline’s code shared routes.
