TACA Airlines

    TACA is the trade name comprising a group of five independently IATA-coded and -owned Central American airlines, whose operations are combined to function as one and a number of other independently owned and IATA-coded regional airlines which code-share and feed the TACA brand system. TACA Airlines was founded in 1931 and boasts more than 80 years of history. The airlines link the Americas together through its four hubs (Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Peru), and its extensive route network from Canada to Brazil, flying to 50 destinations in 22 countries. Additionally, its regional operations service 39 destinations in Central American countries. TACA, originally an acronym of Transportes Aéreos Centroamericanos (Central American Air Transport), now stands for Transportes Aéreos del Continente Americano (Air Transport of the American Continent), reflecting its expansion to North, Central, South America and the Caribbean. TACA Airlines consolidated an alliance with Avianca through the joint creation of a new holding company. Combined, Avianca and TACA service over 100 destinations in the Americas and Europe, offering the most complete option for travel in Latin America. Avianca and TACA are members of Star Alliance. It has the highest number of member airlines, daily flights, destinations and countries where they fly.

This is exactly the reason why you shall find a variety of programs for your viewing pleasure. Listen to great music, watch your favorite movies or catch the latest TV programs, TACA leaves no stone unturned to make your flight an unforgettable experience. In addition, we also offer you our Explorer magazine so you don’t miss the world’s major events. We provide our customers with two ways to enjoy our on board entertainment:

    General screens: the programming varies depending on the destination of your flight. To review the entertainment available for your next flight, refer to the table on page 18 of our Entertainment Guide.
    Individual screens: With these you can choose what you want to enjoy and have total control over the available entertainment (fast forward, rewind, stop, create playlists, etc.

Service Class

    Business Class

    When flying through our Business Class, customers notice the difference from the moment they arrive at the airport. Enjoy comfort through our special check-in counters, attentive service, dedicated staff, access to various lounges across airports and more!
    We have introduced new amenities onboard our Business Class. Specially designed to offer a more pleasant experience, these include more room between seats, new china, and comfort kits for overnight flights. For additional traveler comfort, there will now be more space between Business Class seats. Also, many of the seats will now recline twice as far back as before to provide travelers with greater comfort and freedom of movement.
    Whet your appetite through a carefully designed food and drinks menu courtesy acclaimed chefs.

    Economy Class

    Flying through TACA’s Economy Class is nothing short of a great experience for the travelers. We offer very spacious economy cabins, better legroom than most other carriers, comprehensive entertainment system and a variety of eating options that one can choose from.

    3. Angel Falls, Venezuela

    Nestled within Venezuela’s Canaima National Park, Angel Falls are the highest waterfalls in the world. Apart from the impressive hike into Angel Falls, this jungle trek is its own adventure as a guide navigates the grasslands, rivers and mountains to reveal spectacular waterfalls and lagoons.

    4. Torres del Paine, Chile

    Torres del Paine National Park is located in the Southern most region of Chile and for those willing to venture to Patagonia, it offers astonishing hiking opportunities amongst glaciers, lakes and blue mountains. Treks are available for varying experience levels on clearly marked paths with options for accommodation and basic services.

    5. Salar de Uyuni - Bolivia

    The world's largest salt flat in the world, salt and other abundant minerals are sought in this area. But apart from that, it makes for a darling of the travelers for its reputation as the world's best photo op. Photographers flock here to capture the unique landscape. The salt flats are often part of a 3-4 day tour in Bolivia that promises to defy expectations and include such unusual stops as the Salt Hotel. This location feels out of this world.

Our Fleet

    TACA Airlines’ fleet comprises 11 Airbus A319-100, 18 Airbus A320-200, 5 Airbus A321-200, and 12 Embraer 190.
