    First spreading its wings in the sky in May 2004, Wizz Air is a Hungarian low-cost airline with its head office on the property of Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest. Wizz Air Hungary Airlines Limited, as it is technically known, uses secondary airports serving many cities across Europe. It has the largest aircraft fleet of all the Hungarian airlines. Wizz Air is constantly looking at opportunities to expand its network of destinations and provide low-cost air transport to and from Central and Eastern Europe. The airline currently offers flights on more than 220 routes in Europe. It has 15 operating bases in the region: Gdansk, Poznan, Katowice, Warsaw and Wroclaw, in Poland, Budapest in Hungary, Sofia in Bulgaria, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca Tirgu Mures and Timisoara in Romania, Vilnius in Lithuania, Kyiv in Ukraine, Belgrade in Serbia and Prague in Czech Republic. The network is constantly being expanded and new destinations are being introduced. Wizz Air group includes 2 operating airlines including Wizz Air Hungary and Wizz Air Ukraine.

Inflight Entertainment

    Wizz Air offers a ‘simple service model’ that translates into ticketless travel, use of cost- and time-efficient secondary airports, single class all-leather seat configuration, no seat assignment and catering on demand for extra payment.

    The airline does not have a comprehensive inflight entertainment system onboard. However, Wizz Magazine, the airline's in-flight magazine, is available to read online.

    Wizz Air offers a buy-on-board service called Wizz Café and a shopping service called Wizz Boutique. For both services, the base price is in euros. All flights also accept pound sterling notes as tender, while pound sterling coins are not accepted. Flights with Hungary as the origin or destination also accept forints. Flights with Poland as the origin or destination accept zloty. The prices in pounds, forints, and zloty are conversions of the original euro prices. Wizz Air flights also accept EuroCard, MasterCard and Visa credit cards.

Our Fleet

    Wizz Air has a young, single type Airbus A320-232 fleet, with average age of less than 3 years. All 36 aircrafts are powered by International Aero Engine’s V-2500 engines and equipped with 180 comfortable leather seats. These new aircrafts represent the latest technology, which helps to keep our operational cost down. The fleet will be increased by the addition of new aircraft in the coming years to achieve a fleet of 132 aircraft by 2017.
